The main characters, John and Chris lived in a city predominantly occupied by gangs. John was always attracted to the gang life cause of the money and fame he saw notorious gangsters have. He always wanted that ever since he was a child so he decided to join the most ruthless gang in the city "The Black ice". Unfortunately for him, joining The Black ice wasn't as easy as he thought it would be and it came with a heavy price. He was given the choice of either convincing his brother to join the gang or kill him. Their parents were also threatened. Chris eventually obliged to join them as he didn't want his parents to get hurt. The violence, chaos and bloodshed wasn't what John had bargained for. As the years passed, he and his brother had no choice but to survive and adapt to the gang life. They fought rival gangs, sold hard drugs and made more money than they ever did their whole life. The story also talks about other major characters like Romeo, Killswitch and some major members of The Black ice.
We also see the emergence of female characters like Regina, leader of the South South pythons, a female rival gang and Stella, Chris's love interest whom he met at a party there in the city. John gets caught up in a web of romance between Stella, Chris and one other male character later mentioned in the story. Stella constantly fought with the decision of being with gangsters but always found herself getting caught up between John and Chris.
Gang wars, betrayal, romance and the daily hurdles of being a youth are what encompass the entire story. At the end of the day, everything they did always ended up revolving around The Black ice.
